Ukraine is preparing a political and operational package for discussion at the NATO summit in Vilnius.

Ukrainian Ambassador to NATO Nataliya Halibarenko explained that the political package envisages Ukraine’s desire to bring political relations with the Alliance to a new institutional basis. It concerns, for example, turning the current Ukraine-NATO Commission into a Ukraine-NATO Council, which will enable Ukraine to make certain decisions together with the members of the Alliance rather than separately. The operational package provides a multi-year plan created for Ukraine, which will help increase interoperability with NATO, including assistance to the Armed Forces and a significant increase in the funding of the currently available comprehensive assistance package.
