According to Deputy Minister of Economy Ihor Fomenko, Ukraine has a unique opportunity to create an entirely new, modern defense industry. “To accomplish this, it is necessary to negotiate with our partners and develop high-tech areas of weapons and military equipment production,” Fomenko added. He explained that now there is not only a gradual transition by the Ukrainian army to Western weapons. Ukrainian specialists are simultaneously mastering new approaches and standards. This will also create opportunities to become involved in cooperative production, added Fomenko. Therefore, the Ministry of Economy seeks to establish the most favorable conditions for the arrival of investors. Fomenko is convinced that Ukraine as a whole and the Ukrainian defense industry specifically will be extremely attractive to Western investors following victory.
