The President of the European Parliament, Roberta Metsola, stated that the future of Ukraine is in the EU. During her visit to Ukraine, she noted that she was impressed by the pace at which the Ukrainian Parliament and the government are moving toward joining the EU. During a meeting with the head of the European Parliament in Lviv, President Zelenskyy emphasized that Ukraine intends to complete the implementation of the European Commission’s recommendations as soon as possible in order to start accession negotiations this year. The parties also discussed the prospect of establishing a Liaison Office of the European Parliament in Ukraine, which will contribute to strengthening cooperation and quickening European integration processes. Metsola offered assurance of unwavering support for Ukraine in resisting Russia’s full-scale aggression and for membership in the EU.
